Academic Endocrine Surgeon 

Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso

The Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSCEP) seeks an Academic Endocrine Surgeon. The position is a full-time appointment and the salary is competitive. The successful candidate will be employed by TTUHSCEP at an academic rank commensurate with qualifications. The candidate should enjoy teaching residents and medical students as well as pursuing research and other scholarly activities within the Surgery Department. The Endocrine Surgeon will have an integral role in the $97 million comprehensive cancer center planned for the Medical Center of the Americas campus. TTUHSCEP is one of five independent universities in the Texas Tech University System. The El Paso Health Sciences Center consists of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine. El Paso is the 6th most populous city in Texas and the 22nd in the United States. The Franklin Mountains are the signature of Texas’ only “mountain city.” At 24,000 acres, El Paso’s Franklin Mountains State Park is the largest urban park in the country. It is a unique resource – an outpost of wild Chihuahuan Desert, in the midst of a major city. El Paso consistently ranks as one of the safest cities in the United States. The Indiana University School of Medicine’s Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology, is seeking a board-certified general surgeon with a completed fellowship in Endocrine Surgery with clinical experience in managing thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal disease, including specific interest and/or expertise in radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for thyroid disease. This clinical track faculty position will hold appointments at Indiana University Health and Indiana University School of Medicine. This faculty position will be responsible for providing patient care, teaching residents and students in their specialty of endocrine surgery and generating research activity in accordance with clinical track guidelines. This is a full-time position. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with past experience.
